The navigational route covered by Alilaguna extends for approximately 17 Km along the canals within the Venice municipal area. It consists of two lines that connect 10 different landing areas. Every landing stage has a covered waiting area, seating and illuminated. To ensure the safe boarding in the various weather conditions the landing stages are 'floating' connected with land by ramps. On all landing stages you will find the timetable and a map showing the network and routes covered, enabling you to gain a precise idea of the entire Alilaguna network, through the general map of the services. At the principal landing stages it is possible to purchase tickets at the booths run directly by Alilaguna or by the VeLa company. The opening and closing hours are deemed according to the air traffic and the influx of clients. It is possible to purchase tickets also on board paying a small supplement.
Other than being tourist use Alilaguna has assisted the inhabitants of Murano and Lido to reach the mainland in a reasonable time. It is also very convenient for the Cruise line passengers to reach the airport by the extension of the blue line to the Maritime station.
For the first time this year Alilaguna has run in from 01/07/2002 to 31/08/2002 an experimental route from Marco Polo airport to Punta Sabbioni with interchange a Murano to enable passengers to reach the airport from the littoral od Cavallino/Jesolo in a reasonable time (about an hour).
